Day Walk – Goodwood and the South Downs Way

A hilly walk with great views - through woodland, downland and forest. The walk is just over 10 miles long and should take 5 hours or so with stops.

We will be departing from a car park near Gooodwood racecourse, there is plenty of parking and its free. We will start the walk at 9:45. The walk will take us down through the woods to the delightful village of East Dean, then a steady climb up through East Dean woods to the SDW at Graffham down. We will then walk along the SDW to Heyshott down, descending to Charlton and then heading back up to the car park.

There is no public transport close to the walk start, but a lift may be possible to arrange depending on who is going.

There may be some muddy bits, and it is hilly and beautiful with 335m of ascent.
