Evening Walk – AshurstWednesday 5th August 2026This walk starts and finishes at The Fountain Inn pub and is approx 10 k across country roads and paths ending with a walk along the Adur (hopefully with the setting sun). The pub dates back to the 16th Century and appeared in Paul McCartneys Wonderful Christmas Time hit song! The walk will go past Ashurst Church which dates back to the 12th Century and where local actor, Sir Laurence Olivier had his funeral. He was also a 'regular' at the pub! The walk should take about 2 1/2 to 3 hours with a tea break leaving time for a pint at the pub! Public transport is limited and therefore lift share required. Can we meet at 6.00 pm in the large car park to the rear of the pub. Please let Katy know you are joining. |
