Day Walk – Glynde-Lewes Circular
Sunday 29th March 2026

Meet at the Car Park 100m north of Glynde rail station 9:45am for a 10:00 Start.

We will head northeast up Mount Caburn with splendid views of the Ouse valley & then head towards Lewes via Oxteddle bottom. We will drop into Lewes pass Harveys Brewery & visit South Malling church. The route climbs up Cliffe hill and then Saxon down. You will hopefully be able to view the Glyndbourne theatre site or walk to it. A Pub awaits at the end for refreshment if you wish the Trevor arms.

It’s a fairly hilly route & sections can be muddy during wet weather.
Total distance 15.14Km 493m height gain.

For those travelling by public transport from the Sussex coast there are trains via Brighton & Lewes to Glynde. From Glynde rail station it’s a 100m walk north to the car park starting/finish point.

It should be possible to car share please let me know if you are willing to offer or would like a lift & I will arrange the transport. At the A27 Beddingham roundabout travel east for 1km to turn left towards Glynde go over the rail & then the river bridge parking in recreation car park next to public toilets its free during the day. (Not the rail station one) Additional parking in station road north of car park.

Please bring a picnic and flask.
