Midweek Trip – White Peaks, DerbyshireMonday 14th - Friday 18th October 2024We will offer three and a half days’ walking in the White Peak area of Derbyshire which has a stunning and varied landscape. The White Peak is known for its gently rolling limestone plateau, dissected by limestone dales. In many places the dales are steep-sided and contrast sharply with the plateau land above, whilst in other places the plateau grades more gently into shallow dales.We’ll be staying in high quality accommodation located in an 18th century stable block which originally formed part of the Ilam Hall Estate. The estate is now managed by the National Trust and the bunkhouse sits within the grounds just north of Ashbourne. It is anticipated that this could be a popular trip but places are limited due to the nature of the accommodation. Places will be allocated on a first come first served basis, The club have exclusive use of the accommodation & will offer the Merry meals rotas for catering. Walks will be organised to offer a range abilities and varied walking taking in the best of Lathkill dale, Bradford dale, Manifold valley & Dovedale. Accommodation: comfortable bunkhouse Ilam Bunkhouse Derbyshire | National Trust Cost (approx) : £155 to include shared transport, accommodation, 4 breakfasts 3 evening meal and lunchbox bread/spread. Independent travelers - £115 (who wish to travel to independently to the accommodation) Deposit : £75 to HHMC by February 29th. |
