Day Walk – Chichester - Bracklesham Bay

Saturday 8th June 2024

For those who want to work up an appetite Michael will lead a day walk of approximately 13 miles walking part of the Selsey Tram Way and English Coastal Path, with negligible climb to Bracklesham Bay to join those just going for the barbecue and social.

Free street parking should be available near or at 12th Chichester Scout HQ, Sherborne Road at the Westgate end (what3words – gravel.richer.disgraced). For those coming by public transport we will pass Chichester Railway Station/Bus Station en route so please let me know if you want to meet there.

The route from Chichester follows the canal to start with before heading through Hunston, past the church, through the golf course to Pagham Harbour and the RSPB centre (tea and coffee available here) before striking westwards towards Earnley to finish at Bracklesham Bay.
Philippa has offered to recover any walkers who want to finish earlier in the walk, the most obvious place being the RSPB reserve at Pagham Harbour which is after about 9 miles.

Bus 52 or 53 back to Chichester after the barbecue and social will cost £2 or free with an older person’s bus pass and they run quite late, or you might get a lift!
