Day Walk – Loxwood CircularSaturday 6th December 2025An easy winter walk through the pleasant countryside along the Sussex and Surrey border, starting and finishing along restored sections of the Wey and Arun Canal. With any luck we should see one of their popular Santa Cruises setting off! The walk is 9 miles long but can be shortened at various points if the weather turns against us or members wish to shorten their day for any reason. There should be the opportunity for a coffee, cake and toilet stop in Alfold after 3 miles and the Onslow Arms offers refreshment options at the end. It should take about 4-5 hours with stops. Please bring a packed lunch. We will meet at the east end of the Wey and Arun Canal Trust car park behind the Onslow Arms at 9:45 ready to set off at 10.00 prompt. Turn in at the pub and drive past it into the roughly surfaced parking area. If full, cars often also park on the side of the B2133 opposite Loxwood Church just to the south of the pub. The nearest station is Billingshurst and there are no public transport options to the starting point. If members do wish to come by train, then we will see if other members can pick them up at the station on their way through. While a good proportion of the route will be on well-made paths there will inevitably be muddy sections given the time of the year. Length of Walk: 9 miles Height Gain: 250 feet. Please let the organiser know if you intend to join us for this walk. Please also let the organiser know if
