Day Walk – Friston Forest at Exceat

Saturday 2nd November 2024

Meet at the bus stop at Friston Forest at Exceat for a 10.00 start.

(Paid Parking available at the Forest)

Our walk takes us along a few of the Seven Sisters to Crowlink where we turn inland towards Jevington and Litlington. Then back through Friston Forest to the car park. About 12 miles.

Day Walk – South Hill, Seaford

Saturday 20th April 2024

Meet at 10.15 for a 10.30 start.

Meet point South Hill Barn car park Seaford.

To avoid the worst of the soggy land, today's walk takes us to Exceat and onto the SDW along to Went Hill. From here we head inland to Friston Forest and wander through the Forest back to Exceat and the cars.

For those on the Scotland trip this will be a good start to your training!

Day Walk – Lewes Circular

Saturday 1st June 2024

14 miles, 2400 ft ascent

Start: Free car park at Glynde bridge, GR 457 088, Lacy’s Hill, Glynde. From west, follow A27 Lewes bypass. Continue straight on at A26 roundabout, then half a mile turn left small road towards Glynde village. Pass railway station. Over bridge, Car Park on left. Loos here. You could arrive by train too.

Walk will start at 09.30 am. Expected finish 4.30-5.00pm.

Route: Over Mt Caburn and down to Lewes, coffee stop, more loos. Follow on towards Kingston, passing famous windmill. Steeply uphill onto downs (S Downs Way), we will have a picnic here (bring food). Along ridge, with good views and down to Rodmell. Pass Southease Church, short stop here. Over river bridge, pass YHA then final big climb up Itford Hill & Beddingham Hill. Down track, cross A27 and back to cars at Glynde.
